Court Orders Release of Liberian – Illegal Deportation Detention
The Supreme Court of Cyprus has ordered the immediate release of a Liberian citizen, as his extended detention for deportation purposes no longer met the legal requirements. Judge E. Ephraim issued the decision on April 21, 2026 based on a habeas corpus application, ruling that the deprivation of liberty was unlawful.
