Crisis in Livestock Farming: 50% of Breeders Give Up
The president of the Cypriot Pig Breeders Association, Petros Kailas, warns of an existential crisis in the livestock industry. Approximately half of the breeders do not plan to rebuild their operations, as the uncertainty about future disease outbreaks such as foot-and-mouth disease is too great. The industry is under considerable pressure and requires urgent support.
