Cruise Ship Hondius with Suspected Cases Heads for Canary Islands
The cruise ship MV Hondius, on which suspected cases of hantavirus were discovered, is being rerouted to the Canary Islands. Spanish Health Minister Mónica García and Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska confirmed that the ship is heading to Tenerife after three patients have already disembarked. The remaining passengers show no symptoms, with Spanish passengers being quarantined in Madrid while others are being repatriated.
