Customs authorities seize cigarettes following highway chase
On March 31, 2026, police informed customs authorities about a highway chase that led to the arrest of a Bulgarian (37) and a Turkish-Cypriot (39). Cartons of tobacco products were discovered in their delivery van with Turkish-Cypriot license plates. The vehicle was already known for smuggling from the occupied territories.
