Customs Officers Impose Fines on Mother and Daughter for Cigarette Smuggling
The Cypriot Customs Authority seized 16 crates of untaxed cigarettes on June 27 during checks at the Agios Dometios border crossing point, transported by a mother and daughter with British passports. The women were to board a taxi registered in occupied areas and travel to the United Kingdom. Fines were imposed, including against a Turkish-Cypriot driver.
