Customs Seizes Untaxed Tobacco Products at Border Crossings
Customs officers in Nicosia seized untaxed tobacco products from travelers at the Ledra Street and Ayios Dhometios border crossings during late June and early July. A Romanian citizen transporting cigarettes to Ireland was stopped on June 30 when officers found six cartons containing 200 cigarettes lacking required health warnings.
