Cypriot deposit interest rates remain below eurozone average
Cyprus's central bank reported for February 2026 that the average interest rate for new mortgage loans in Cyprus was 3.04 percent, below the eurozone average of 3.41 percent. The average interest rate for new short-term savings deposits (up to one year) reached 1.19 percent. This indicates continued weaker financing conditions for Cypriot savers compared to other eurozone countries.
