Cypriot EU lawmakers criticize Turkish Mediterranean claims
Cypriot members of the European Parliament protested on Thursday in Strasbourg against Turkish maritime claims in the eastern Mediterranean. DIKO representative Costas Mavrides stated that the so-called "Blue Homeland" – the Turkish term for their maritime territorial claims – does not apply to Turkey. The criticism is directed at repeated escalations in the eastern Aegean and the Mediterranean.
