Cypriot Parliamentary Elections on May 24 More Expensive Than Budgeted
The Cypriot electoral authority is requesting additional funding of 350,000 to 400,000 euros from the Ministry of Finance for the parliamentary elections on May 24. The shortfall was created primarily by salary increases in the public service, despite the Interior Ministry's original budget of 5.7 million euros and Parliament's approval of a five percent increase.
