Cypriot Sheep Herders Protest Against Foot-and-Mouth Disease
Livestock breeders conducted a protest demonstration on Sunday morning to protest government measures to combat foot-and-mouth disease and the resulting mass culling of animals. Demonstrators gathered with banners and slogans at the Office of the Commissioner and marched to the Ministry of Agriculture. At times, they also blocked traffic at the entrance to Nicosia.
