Cypriot women chess players win silver at Olympiad in Samarkand
The Cypriot women's chess team won the silver medal in category D at the 46th Chess Olympiad in Samarkand (September 27, 2026). Three of the five team members – Aida Păunescu, Larisa Sokolova, and Eleni Pica – achieved FIDE Master norms, which according to the report represents a remarkable achievement.
