Cyprus: Alarming Statistics on Femicide – 17 Cases Since 2020
Between 2020 and 2025, 17 femicides were registered in Cyprus, with 2026 already recording two to three attempted femicides. The statistics underscore the serious problem of gender-based violence: in 2025 alone, 300 women and 347 children were housed in shelters for victims of violence.
