Cyprus and Egypt reaffirm cooperation on Kronos and Aphrodite gas fields
A new agreement between Cyprus and Egypt reaffirms the political will of both countries to develop the Cypriot natural gas reserves "Kronos" and "Aphrodite" via Egyptian infrastructure. Energy Minister Michalis Damianos explained on the sidelines of the EGYPES 2026 conference in Cairo that the framework agreement signed on Monday is intended to advance the development of the natural gas discoveries. The cooperation represents an important step for Cyprus's energy security and economic development.
