Cyprus Approves Major Desalination Expansion Program
The Cypriot cabinet has approved a revised long-term water security plan that provides for expanding desalination plants from the current four to a total of 13 facilities. The program costs approximately 235 million euros per year and is designed to combat ongoing drought. Existing plants are located in Paphos, Episkopi, Vasilikos, and Larnaca.
