Cyprus Begins Repayment of 12 Billion Euro Social Insurance Debt
The Cypriot government will begin gradually repaying its 12 billion euro debt to the Social Insurance Fund (SIF) from the end of 2028, rather than continuing to borrow from its surpluses, announced Labor Minister Marinos Moushouttas. The minister presented three concrete steps for implementing this decision at a meeting of the Labor Advisory Council.
