Cyprus celebrates 66 years of independence with pride
The Republic of Cyprus marked the 66th anniversary of its independence on October 1, 2026 with a military parade. President Nikos Christodoulidis expressed pride in the level of the Cypriot armed forces and acknowledged the international partnerships highlighted by the participation of foreign military units in the parade. The Presidential Administration and all political parties of Cyprus used the occasion to honor the significance of the state's founding and to advocate for the protection and further development of the Republic.
