Cyprus Conflict: Disagreement Between Government and Opposition
President Nikos Christodoulides held a meeting of the National Council and conveyed through government spokesperson Konstantinos Letimbiotis that the government "will not lose negotiating capital." The opposition, however, criticizes Christodoulides sharply: Direct Democracy Cyprus leader Fidias Panayiotou accuses the president of achieving "no significant results" on the Cyprus issue over nearly a decade on the political front, as Christodoulides has been active since 2018 as Foreign Minister.
