Cyprus demands reassessment of British military bases with EU support
Cyprus has secured EU support for a review of its agreement with Britain on the Sovereign Base Areas (military bases) at Akrotiri and Dhekelia. The country is following the legal strategy under which Britain transferred the Chagos Islands to Mauritius. The European Council reaffirmed its position at its summit on March 19.
