Cyprus Demands Right of Passage for Ships Through the Strait of Hormuz
Cyprus is demanding on the international stage the right to free passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international maritime law (UNCLOS). Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos represented President Nikos Christodoulides at a video conference convened by France and the United Kingdom with 49 countries, where the security situation in the strategic waterway was discussed. Cyprus's UN representative Gabriella Michaelidou emphasized the importance of this passage for international shipping.
