Cyprus Develops New Interbank Payment System for Mobile Numbers
Cyprus is preparing an innovative interbank payment system that will enable customers to transfer money using only the recipient's mobile phone number. The launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, with planning to be finalized in early September when JCC Payments holds its first substantial meeting with members of the Cyprus Bankers Association.
