Cyprus Develops 'Red Flag' App to Combat Gender-Based Violence
Justice Minister Costas Fytiris told the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee that Cyprus registered 10,000 cases of crimes against women and domestic violence in the past five years, of which 7,000 went to court. The government is currently developing a prevention app called 'Red Flag,' which is expected to be operational by the end of the year. The app aims to identify and protect potential victims of violence early on.
