Cyprus dismantles international drug smuggling network - 21 arrested
The Drug Enforcement Service (YKAN) conducted an intensive operation starting June 19, 2026, and dismantled an organized crime group that smuggled and distributed large quantities of opium poppies (Papaver somniferum). During the nationwide raids, 17 interconnected cases were resolved and 21 suspects were arrested.
