Cyprus Files Complaint with UN Over Illegal Turkish Gas Pipeline
The Republic of Cyprus filed a formal complaint with the UN against an agreement between Turkey and the occupied territories of Cyprus regarding the laying of an underwater natural gas pipeline. Cyprus's permanent representative to the UN, Maria Michael, declared the memorandum invalid, as it was signed with the internationally unrecognized regime of the occupied territories. Cyprus argues that the agreement violates international law.
