Cyprus Football Clubs Face Account Freeze Over Tax Debts
Tax Commissioner Soteris Markides ordered clubs APOEL, Anorthosis, Apollon, and AEL to pay one million euros in outstanding VAT and income tax liabilities by August 20. If the clubs fail to pay, Markides announced he would freeze their bank accounts.
