Cyprus fourth best in eurozone for sustainable debt bonds
Cyprus ranks fourth in the eurozone in the issuance of bonds for sustainable development. However, the ranking is substantially shaped by government activities: A one billion euro bond from 2023 accounts for 70 percent of all sustainable debt issuances. The remaining emissions come almost exclusively from banks, while private companies are minimally represented.
