Cyprus recorded 42 traffic deaths per million inhabitants in 2024, a better rate than the EU average of 44. The EU overall reduced traffic fatalities in 2024 to 19,934 (compared to 20,384 in 2023), representing a 2.2 percent decline and marking the second consecutive year of continuous improvement.
