Cyprus Has Highest Food Waste in the EU
According to a 2023 Eurostat study, Cyprus records the highest food waste rate in the European Union with 286 kilograms of food waste per person. The country must meet the European directive to reduce food waste by 30 percent by 2030, which presents a critical challenge.
