Cyprus has the lowest rate of overburdened households in the EU
According to Eurostat data from September 2026, only 3.5 percent of young people in Cyprus live in overburdened households – significantly below the EU average of 26.9 percent. This makes the island the EU member state with the lowest overburdened household rate among young people and speaks to better living conditions compared to other European countries.
