Cyprus Launches New Authority to Combat Organized Crime
The Cypriot police have unveiled a new directorate to combat organized crime (DAOE), which will officially commence operations on October 12, 2026. Police Chief Themistos Arnaoutis emphasizes that new communications legislation is essential for the effective work of this new unit, informally referred to as the Cypriot FBI.
