Cyprus leads Europe in hospital-acquired infections
Over 3.5 million patients in the EU are infected annually with nosocomial infections, causing over 90,000 deaths per year. Cyprus is alarmingly at the forefront with 13.8% of hospitalized patients affected by hospital-acquired infections. These infections pose a significant threat to patient safety and place a heavy burden on healthcare systems.
