Cyprus Loses ECHR Case over Expropriated Property
The European Court of Human Rights ruled against Cyprus because the authorities did not return land that was expropriated in 1976 for industrial development to ten citizens. The property in the Agios Athanasios area of Limassol remained largely unused for decades. The court found that the authorities had not responded to the applicants' request for return since 2008.
