Cyprus meets technical requirements for Schengen accession
According to Deputy Migration Minister Nicholas Ioannides, Cyprus has fulfilled all technical requirements for full accession to the Schengen area and has implemented all recommendations from the European Commission. The remaining obstacle is now political in nature. Ioannides made these remarks ahead of a meeting of the EU Council for Justice and Home Affairs in Luxembourg.
