Cyprus: New Schedules for Waste Management Reform
The government has set new deadlines for addressing the waste management problem. Contracts for the modernization of the Pentakomo and Kosi waste treatment facilities are to be awarded in the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028 respectively, with planned construction periods of 36 months each. Agriculture Minister Christos Senekis announced these measures to provide a permanent solution to long-standing problems.
