Cyprus Parliament Passes Financial Supervision Laws
The Cypriot parliament passed enforcement legislation by a large majority (34 to 18 votes) that overhauls the financial supervision mechanism for debt confirmation. The reforms enable debtor restructuring to be regulated through binding decisions by the financial supervision authority. The laws also address a new out-of-court dispute resolution mechanism for financial matters.
