Cyprus prisons and detention facilities are overcrowded
Justice Minister Costas Fitiris confirmed on Friday that Cyprus's prisons and detention facilities are completely overcrowded. The minister emphasized, however, that the government is actively working on solutions to the problem. A fire in one of the facilities underscores the tense situation in the detention centers.
