Cyprus Problem: Substantive Negotiations Resumed After 9 Years
President Nikos Christodoulides announced that substantive negotiations on the Cyprus problem have taken place for the first time since the failed Crans-Montana summit in 2017. The discussion occurred following a trilateral meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman. Erhurman emphasized the necessity of "a different approach this time" and referred to new methodology in the negotiations.
