Cyprus protests Turkish gas pipeline agreement
Cyprus rejects the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Turkey and the occupied territories for the construction of an underwater natural gas pipeline. The Foreign Ministry describes the agreement as a further manifestation of Turkish revisionist policy in the eastern Mediterranean. The pipeline would bring energy from Turkey to the occupied territories and would violate international law.
