Cyprus ready for NATO membership, EU summit discusses Article 42.7
President Nikos Christodoulides announced that the activation of Article 42.7 of the EU Treaty is on the agenda of the informal European Council meeting taking place on April 23-24 in Nicosia. The article governs the mutual defense obligation between EU member states. Christodoulides emphasized that Cyprus is ready to become a NATO member.
