Cyprus records significant increase in forestry expenditure
On the occasion of International Day of Forests, government representatives emphasized a strong increase in state spending on forestry. Agriculture Minister Maria Panayiotou announced that public spending on forestry will increase from 48.2 million euros in 2021 to 81.7 million euros in 2025 - an increase of about 70 percent. The additional investments aim at enhanced fire prevention and rural development.
