Cyprus Reforms Lifeguard System Following Swimming Accidents
Cyprus' Interior Ministry is overhauling the staffing model for 114 lifeguard towers and the lifeguard certification system starting in 2027. The measure follows several swimming accidents and aims to permanently address chronic staffing shortages at Cypriot beaches. Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou convened a comprehensive meeting with responsible officials.
