Cyprus Rejects New EU Fuel Tax
Cyprus is among ten EU countries calling for a reassessment of the planned EU carbon pricing scheme on fuels. Along with Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia, Cyprus signed a joint declaration also demanding changes to the existing emissions trading system. This position could lead to tensions within the EU bloc.
