Cyprus's wildlife and fauna protection service has been operating a systematic conservation program for barn owls for over 25 years, with more than 800 artificial nesting boxes installed across the island. A single breeding pair of owls can catch thousands of rodents annually, making them a natural and effective alternative to chemical pest control.
