Cyprus Simplifies Establishment of University Spin-Offs
The Cypriot Parliament has approved changes to the legal framework for spin-off companies from public universities, after the law enacted in 2018 did not result in a single establishment. The University of Cyprus welcomes the decision and criticizes that the old framework actively hindered the commercialization of academic research. The reforms are intended to enable start-ups from university research.
