Cyprus struck by rarest dust storm in ten years
Cyprus is experiencing one of the most extreme dust episodes of the decade with fine dust concentrations exceeding 200 μg/m³. Authorities have suspended all outdoor work and sporting activities, and the Health Ministry is advising the population to avoid outdoor activities. According to Philippos Tymbios, director of the Meteorology Department, such severe episodes occur only about once every ten years. The high dust levels are expected to persist until Saturday afternoon and then gradually decline.
