Cyprus: Surveillance reform fails due to lack of consensus
The Cypriot Parliament failed to reach agreement on a constitutional amendment concerning telephone surveillance, leaving an unresolved dilemma between police and intelligence service powers and concerns regarding data protection and human rights. The matter will be referred to the new Parliament.
