Cyprus Tightens Ship Safety After Fatal Accidents
The Cabinet of Ministers has banned the departure of ships under unfavorable weather conditions. This measure follows two tragic shipping accidents in late August that caused fatalities on both sides of the border and exposed gaps in maritime safety. Although the decision is correct, it demonstrates reactive behavior by the state—human lives had to be lost before measures were taken.
