Cyprus to lose approximately 50% of electricity capacity by 2030
Authorities and unions warn the parliament's energy committee that Cyprus could lose approximately 750 MW of conventional electricity generation capacity by 2030. The capacity loss is due to the decommissioning of nine obsolete power units in Dhekelia and Vasilikos, which poses a serious threat to electricity supply security.
