Cyprus's Dams Still Two-Thirds Empty
Despite four months of continuous rainfall and the best April rain in nearly 50 years, Cyprus's dams remain approximately two-thirds empty. Authorities warn that the country must continue to manage a water scarcity situation. The improvement recorded in 2026 so far has not been sufficient to substantially alleviate the consequences of the drought.
