Cyprus's tourism suffers strongest EU-wide decline
Cyprus recorded the steepest decline in hotel overnight stays in the first half of 2026 in the EU with minus 7.7 percent compared to the previous year, while the EU as a whole grew by 1.7 percent. Despite these declines, tourism remains a key sector for the Cypriot economy.
