Dangerous Bacterial Infection Spreading in Europe and Cyprus
A serious bacterial infection that can cause pneumonia, sepsis, and meningitis is increasing in Europe and is being observed more frequently in Cyprus. Historically high case numbers since 1996 have been recorded at the European level. Newborns and people over 65 years of age are particularly at risk from the Haemophilus influenzae bacterium.
